Graphic Era Deemed University recently honored their distinguished student, Lakshya Sen, for his outstanding achievements in badminton, particularly for his contribution to India’s historic victory in the Thomas Cup. The university held a grand ceremony where Sen inaugurated the new badminton court and was presented with a reward of Rs 11 lakh. Additionally, Graphic Era announced an annual grant of Rs 10 lakh to support his training and future endeavors .
Sen’s parents, DK Sen and Nirmala Dhirendra Sen, along with the Uttaranchal State Badminton Association secretary VN Mankoti, were also recognized during the event. Dr. Kamal Ghanshala, Chairman of Graphic Era Group, highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing sports talent in the state and expressed confidence in Sen’s potential to achieve further international success.
Lakshay Sen, a prominent Indian badminton player, hails from Almora, Uttarakhand, but he has strong ties to Dehradun due to his training and association with the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy, which is situated there. Known for his remarkable achievements in the sport, Lakshay has garnered attention for his skills and potential to bring accolades to India on the international badminton stage.
