Uttarakhand Mourns: Vice President, CM Dhami Pay Final Tribute to B.C. Khanduri

Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister BC Khanduri passed away on Tuesday, May 19th. He subsequently merged with the five elements today, May 20th. Vice President Radhakrishnan expressed his deep sorrow over his passing. He also visited Khanduri’s residence in Dehradun to pay his respects. Chief Minister Dhami, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and several other politicians also arrived in Haridwar to bid him farewell.

Vice President Radhakrishnan stated that Khanduri’s contribution to the nation’s development was a milestone that will remain etched in history. Expressing his condolences, he stated that the country has lost a distinguished soldier, a capable administrator, and a politician of exceptional integrity.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari, along with several other leaders, were reported to have arrived at Kharkhari in Haridwar, where they paid their respects to Khanduri’s mortal remains. It is reported that on January 17th, the Vice President visited Khanduri’s residence in Dehradun to meet and inquire about his well-being, recalling their relationship as former colleagues in the Lok Sabha.

Three days of state mourning has been declared in the state on the demise of former Chief Minister BC Khanduri. Director of Secondary Education Dr Mukul Kumar Sati also issued an order in this regard, according to which government, non-government and private schools and offices of the state will remain closed from May 20 to May 23.
