In view of the Kanwar Yatra starting from July 30th, the Uttarakhand government is offering a major gift to the pilgrims. Six special trains will operate for the pilgrims from July 30th, and the routes of four trains have also been extended.
The Railway Department has announced the operation of six special trains for Shiva devotees traveling to Haridwar to collect Ganga water during the month of Shravan. The routes of four trains have also been extended. These trains will operate between Delhi and Haridwar station from July 30th to August 14th. 4,410 LED lights will also be installed on the Kanwar Yatra route.
Providing information about the special trains, Senior DCM Mahesh Yadav said that the operation of train numbers 74022 and 74023 Delhi Shamli Delhi DMU trains has been extended to Haridwar station. Both trains will operate daily from Delhi station from July 30th to August 13th and from Haridwar station from July 31st to August 14th.

The operation of Delhi Saharanpur Delhi MEMU train has also been extended till Haridwar station. Both these trains will also operate daily from Delhi from 30th July to 13th August and from Haridwar station from 31st July to 14th August. Similarly, Haridwar Delhi Shahdara Haridwar Unreserved Mela Special train will be operated from 30th July to 13th July. Other trains including train number 04315 and 04316 Yoga Nagari Rishikesh Delhi Shahdara Rishikesh passing through Haridwar will be operated.
To ensure smooth, safe and hassle-free journey of Kavad pilgrims, Rs 6.30 crore has been released by the administration with which the preparations are being finalized. To ensure that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience during the Kavad Yatra at night, For this 6265 LED lights will be installed on the main roads of Haridwar and Roorkee divisions at a cost of Rs 120.60 lakh, whereas 1855 LED lights will be installed in Haridwar division and 4410 LED lights will be installed in Roorkee division.
