Governor Launches AI for All Initiative, Students to Get Appointment-Oriented Education

Uttarakhand Governor Gurmeet Singh launched the AI ​​for All initiative at Lok Bhavan on Friday, July 31st. The initiative aims to provide quality and employment-oriented education in the field of Artificial Intelligence to students in Uttarakhand’s higher education institutions. Padmashree Professor V. Kamakoti, Director of IIT Madras, and Professor Surekha Dangwal, Vice Chancellor of Doon University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding the collaboration.

The AI ​​for All initiative will be implemented in collaboration with Doon University, IIT Madras, Pravartan Technology Foundation, and Swayam Plus. In the first phase of this initiative, several cutting-edge AI-based courses will be made available to students of Uttarakhand’s universities and colleges through Swayam Plus and IIT Madras and Pravartan Technology Foundation.

During the launch of the initiative, the Governor stated that this initiative is not just the launch of new courses but also the beginning of a new era that connects Uttarakhand’s higher education with Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and a global knowledge-based future. AI for All will provide new impetus to the commitment to a developed Uttarakhand and a developed India. It will inspire youth to become creators of future technologies, not just consumers.

He commended the University and Foundation for their collaboration and described this partnership as a historic initiative to connect the youth of Uttarakhand with the best knowledge resources in the country, setting new benchmarks for higher education in the future.

During the event, Professor V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, explained that SWAYAM Plus is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. IIT Madras is implementing this initiative nationwide and is designed to provide high-quality, employment-oriented learning opportunities to learners across India.
