Fans of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna will have to wait a little longer for their next big-screen outing together. Their upcoming period action drama Ranabaali will now release worldwide in cinemas on October 16, 2026, instead of its earlier September 11 date. Vijay announced the new release date on social media on August 27, along with an intense new poster from the film.
Vijay’s New Look Grabs Attention
The newly released poster gives a glimpse of Vijay in a rugged, battle-ready avatar. Sporting long hair and a thick moustache, the actor is seen carrying a large weapon against a fiery backdrop. The look has added to the curiosity around the film, which is set in a historical period and presents Vijay in a character very different from many of his recent roles.

Rashmika Plays Jayamma
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is a period action drama set against the backdrop of British rule in 19th-century India. Vijay plays the titular character, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Jayamma, his wife. The film also features Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy, as British officer Sir Theodore Hector.
A Reunion Fans Are Looking Forward To
Vijay and Rashmika have previously appeared together in popular films such as Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, making their return as an on-screen pair one of the film’s biggest attractions. Ranabaali also marks Vijay’s second collaboration with director Rahul Sankrityan after Taxiwaala. The film is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, with music by Ajay-Atul.
October Release Set for the Festive Season
The film was initially scheduled to arrive on September 11 but has now been moved to October 16, placing it in the Dussehra festive window. The makers have described it as a worldwide theatrical release, and the latest poster and date announcement have renewed interest among fans. With its period setting, action-heavy story and popular lead pair, Ranabaali is now gearing up for a major October release.
