Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi action film Raaka, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, has received a major compliment from filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi. Speaking at the audio launch of Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming Tamil film Baththa in Chennai, Cibi claimed that he had seen some of the visuals from Raaka and was left stunned by their scale and quality. He went as far as comparing the film’s visual spectacle with James Cameron’s Avatar. “I don’t think even Avatar has visuals like that,” Cibi said, adding that audiences would understand what he meant once the film’s upcoming promotional material is released. Cibi also showered praise on Atlee, whom he considers his teacher and mentor. Drawing a comparison with SS Rajamouli, he said that just as Rajamouli has helped take Indian cinema to another level, he believes Atlee can take Indian cinema to a global audience. His comments have added to the growing curiosity around Raaka, which was previously known by its working title AA22xA6. The film officially received its title in April 2026, when the makers unveiled Allu Arjun’s striking first look.  The project, produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, is being mounted on a large scale and is described by the makers as an upcoming film featuring Allu Arjun, Atlee and Deepika Padukone. The first-look material presented Allu Arjun in a dramatic, beast-like avatar, while subsequent reports have described the project as a sci-fi action film. Production has continued through 2026, with Allu Arjun recently completing an important Mumbai schedule. Cibi also spoke emotionally about his earlier association with Rajinikanth’s next project. He had originally been announced as the director before Ashwath Marimuthu took over the film, now titled Dharman. Recalling the disappointment of losing the opportunity, Cibi said Atlee reached out to him during that difficult period and encouraged him not to give up. He credited Atlee’s words with helping him regain confidence and promised to make his mentor proud with his next film.

KGF

Yash’s Mother’s Strong Response ‘Not a Terrorist, He’s a Bus Driver’s Son’ to Allu Arvind’s ‘Before KGF’ Remark

Yash’s much-awaited film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups hit theatres on August 26 and has been making headlines for both its box-office performance and controversial content. While the film received mixed reactions from audiences and critics, a fresh controversy has now emerged after Yash’s mother, Pushpa Arun Kumar, appeared to take a subtle dig at veteran producer Allu Aravind’s earlier comment questioning, “Who was Yash before KGF?” Speaking at a recent press meet, Yash’s mother strongly defended her son and highlighted his journey in the film industry. She pointed out that Yash had already delivered five consecutive hits before KGF. She also stressed that he came from a humble background and built his career through his own hard work. Calling him “the son of a bus driver,” she said she was proud of everything he had achieved. The remark traces back to 2023, when Allu Aravind, father of actor Allu Arjun, discussed the success of the KGF franchise and questioned Yash’s identity and popularity before the film series. He also credited the film’s massive scale and production value for a significant part of its success. The old comment resurfaced recently after Yash addressed it during an appearance on Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma. Responding to the question, Yash said that the success of a film cannot be credited to just one person. He acknowledged the contribution of producers, writers, supporting actors and the entire team, while also noting that the lead actor has the responsibility of carrying the vision created for him. Yash also praised audiences for recognising quality content and strong performances. Meanwhile, Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash, features Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film, made in Kannada and English and dubbed into multiple Indian languages, has generated considerable discussion online. After five days, Toxic reportedly crossed the ₹200-crore mark in India, with its net collection standing at around ₹214 crore and worldwide gross at approximately ₹255.95 crore.

Asim Riaz-Himanshi Khurana Feud Escalates, Both Claim to Have Evidence

The public fallout between former couple Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana has taken a fresh turn, with both now claiming to have evidence to support their sides. The controversy resurfaced after Himanshi spoke about her past relationship with Asim during an appearance on Paras Chhabra’s podcast. Religion Became a Point of Difference During the podcast, Himanshi discussed the differences in their faith and said religion eventually became one of the reasons behind their breakup. Her remarks drew a strong response from Asim, who denied that he had ever pressured her to change her religion. Taking to X, Asim claimed that Himanshi had contacted him months after their separation and wanted to give their relationship another chance. He said he still had their messages and screenshots and could share them publicly if required. Himanshi Says She Has Evidence Too Responding to Asim, Himanshi said she had also preserved evidence related to the matter. She clarified that she had never used the term “forceful conversion” and said that the narrative had been created by people and sections of the media. She added that she would no longer remain silent if she felt her image was being deliberately tarnished. The latest exchange has once again put the former couple’s relationship in the spotlight. With both Asim and Himanshi claiming to have evidence, the controversy could see further developments if either side decides to make the alleged material public.
