Hanuman Ansh Strikes Gold on Its Eighth Monday, Crosses ₹400 Crore on a Weekday…

Vishal Chaturvedi’s Hanuman Ansh has crossed the ₹400-crore worldwide gross mark, and in the process, set another record for spiritual drama films. The film achieved the feat after 52 days in the theatres, grossing ₹9 crore in India on Sunday, September 27. As per data reported by India Today and NDTV, the film’s India net collection stood at ₹307 crore, whereas its India Gross and Worldwide Gross stood at ₹362.7 crore and ₹401.2 crore, respectively. Hanuman Ansh’s eighth weekend saw another massive influx of viewers. After garnering ₹3.35 crore on Friday and ₹6.50 crore on Saturday, the film registered ₹9 crore on Sunday. The figure came with 46% occupancy across 4,387 screens. The film’s worldwide gross then crossed the ₹400-crore mark, and in the process, saw off competition from newer releases, despite being in the theatres for over seven weeks. The ₹400-crore worldwide gross, however, was not registered on the eighth Monday, i.e., September 28. The eighth Sunday, or day 52 since its release, marked the film’s latest milestone. On Monday, September 28, Hanuman Ansh entered day 53 and saw off a dip in collections. As per data reported by India Today, quoting Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹2.35 crore in India on Monday. The figure pushed the film’s India Nett collection to ₹309.38 crore and Worldwide Gross to ₹404.25 crore Meanwhile, Times of India reported a lower early/final figure of ₹1.97 crore nett for the film on Monday, September 28. Such discrepancies in figures are common in trade tracking, depending on the timing of updates. Directed and written by Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh stars Shobhinaw Satyaa as Lakshmi Narayan, who eventually evolves into the spiritual leader Neem Karoli Baba. As per data reported by India Today, Hanuman Ansh started slow in terms of collections but saw a steady rise in viewership due to word of mouth. Its India Nett collection stood at ₹304.85 crore as of the end of its seventh week. With the film’s latest ₹400-crore plus worldwide gross figure, it has crossed several other benchmarks in its run at the box office.

The One

The One: Force of the Forest Box Office: Sidharth Malhotra’s Film Takes a Strong Start, Beats Param Sundari on Opening Day…

Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s The Vvaan: Force of the Forrest opened in theatres on September 25 and got off to a strong start at the box office. According to India Today, the film earned around ₹8 crore net in India on its opening day, while its India gross collection stood at approximately ₹9.60 crore. The film saw relatively slower occupancy during the morning shows, but collections improved as the day progressed, particularly during the evening and night shows. The opening day collection also puts The Vvaan ahead of Sidharth Malhotra’s previous release Param Sundari, which reportedly opened with around ₹7.37 crore. The film also surpassed the opening-day figures of Marjaavaan, which collected approximately ₹7.03 crore. With this opening, The Vvaan has reportedly registered the fourth-highest opening day of Sidharth Malhotra’s career, behind films such as Ek Villain, Brothers and Thank God. However, trade estimates released on the first day varied slightly. Bollywood Hungama had estimated the film’s opening in the range of ₹6.50–7.50 crore and noted that the movie performed comparatively well in some mass-market centres, including Bihar. The film’s folklore-based storyline and Chhath-related elements were also seen as factors that could connect with audiences in certain regions. The film had also shown promising signs before its theatrical release. According to Koimoi, The Vvaan generated around ₹2.47 crore in gross advance bookings for Day 1, excluding blocked seats, marking Sidharth Malhotra’s strongest post-pandemic opening-day advance booking according to its tracking. With the weekend now underway, the film’s performance over Saturday and Sunday will be important in determining whether it can build on its opening-day momentum.

Atlee’s upcoming sci-fi action film Raaka, starring Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone, has received a major compliment from filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi. Speaking at the audio launch of Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming Tamil film Baththa in Chennai, Cibi claimed that he had seen some of the visuals from Raaka and was left stunned by their scale and quality. He went as far as comparing the film’s visual spectacle with James Cameron’s Avatar. “I don’t think even Avatar has visuals like that,” Cibi said, adding that audiences would understand what he meant once the film’s upcoming promotional material is released. Cibi also showered praise on Atlee, whom he considers his teacher and mentor. Drawing a comparison with SS Rajamouli, he said that just as Rajamouli has helped take Indian cinema to another level, he believes Atlee can take Indian cinema to a global audience. His comments have added to the growing curiosity around Raaka, which was previously known by its working title AA22xA6. The film officially received its title in April 2026, when the makers unveiled Allu Arjun’s striking first look.  The project, produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, is being mounted on a large scale and is described by the makers as an upcoming film featuring Allu Arjun, Atlee and Deepika Padukone. The first-look material presented Allu Arjun in a dramatic, beast-like avatar, while subsequent reports have described the project as a sci-fi action film. Production has continued through 2026, with Allu Arjun recently completing an important Mumbai schedule. Cibi also spoke emotionally about his earlier association with Rajinikanth’s next project. He had originally been announced as the director before Ashwath Marimuthu took over the film, now titled Dharman. Recalling the disappointment of losing the opportunity, Cibi said Atlee reached out to him during that difficult period and encouraged him not to give up. He credited Atlee’s words with helping him regain confidence and promised to make his mentor proud with his next film.
