UKSSSC, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, has released the syllabus for the Assistant Agriculture Officer Class-1 (Development Branch) and Assistant Agriculture Officer Class-3 recruitment exams in the Agriculture Department. Candidates will be required to study digital AI and robotics for recruitment. The Commission has also included digital AI and robotics in the syllabus. Several recruitment exams in the state were stalled due to a lack of syllabus. The syllabus prepared by the Commission for these exams is being finalized after receiving suggestions from relevant departments at the government level. Consequently, after receiving the government’s approval, UKSSC has released the syllabus for the Assistant Agriculture Officer Recruitment Exam.
The Uttarakhand government has included modern topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, and digital agriculture in the syllabus. This year, Uttarakhand’s agriculture officers will be seen using AI and smart technology in the field
The Commission had previously scheduled July 26 for the Assistant Agriculture Officer exam. However, the Commission postponed the exam due to a lack of a finalized syllabus. The Commission announced this in a revised exam calendar released on July 2. The Commission will now release the new date soon.
The exam pattern is as follows:
The Commission will conduct a two-hour exam, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. The syllabus is divided into 10 main sections. Units 1 and 2 cover topics related to scientific crop production, organic and natural farming, horticulture (fruits, flowers, and vegetables), mushroom production, and hydroponics. Units 3 and 4 cover soil health, manure and fertilizer, remote sensing, plant protection (pest and disease management), sericulture, and beekeeping. Units 5 and 6 cover Mendel’s laws, GI tags, seed technology, plant cells, nutrition, and disaster management. Units 7 and 8 cover animal husbandry and milk processing, agricultural economics, KCC, PM-KISAN, and the e-NAM market system. Units 9 and 10 cover modern agricultural equipment (tractors, power tillers), green energy, statistics, digital agriculture, and the use of AI in agriculture. The syllabus clarifies that questions related to the latest scientific advances, technological advancements, and contemporary general knowledge related to these topics will also be included in the exam.
