The “Carry Me Back” campaign is being launched to protect the environment and keep Kedarnath Dham clean, beautiful, and garbage-free. The campaign is being conducted by the Rudraprayag District Administration and is receiving widespread support from devotees. So far, approximately 2 tons of garbage has been brought to Gaurikund from the Dham area. This campaign is being conducted under the guidance of Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra, with the joint efforts of the Nagar Panchayat Kedarnath, the Healing Himalaya Foundation, and Sulabh International.

Under the campaign, pilgrims are being encouraged to bring back plastic, empty water bottles, food wrappers, and other waste they bring with them, instead of leaving them at the Dham. This awareness campaign is being continuously run by personnel and volunteers deployed along the pilgrimage route and at Kedarnath Dham, and its positive impact is clearly visible.

The “Carry Me Back” campaign is an initiative aimed at encouraging pilgrims visiting Kedarnath Dham to avoid leaving behind anything that could later become garbage, pollute, and destroy the environment. The pilgrims participating in this campaign are helping in bringing the dry waste to the designated collection centres in Gaurikund.
The district administration has appealed to all the pilgrims to become active participants in preserving the sanctity of Kedarnath Dham and the natural heritage of the Himalayas and contribute in making this public welfare campaign successful by bringing back the waste generated with them to Gaurikund.

Along with this, representatives of Nagar Panchayat Kedarnath, Healing Himalaya Foundation and Sulabh International informed that in the coming days, more and more pilgrims will be connected to this campaign and extensive public awareness programmes will be conducted to make Kedarnath Dham completely clean and garbage free.
