The passing out parade has begun at the Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun. President Draupadi Murmu, the chief guest, arrived in Dehradun yesterday, June 12th, where she spent the night at Rashtrapati Niketan. In the President’s presence, 515 Gentleman Cadets will complete their final pass and become part of the Indian Army and the forces of friendly countries.

The passing out parade of the 141st Regular Technical Course at the 158th IMA began at 6:40 a.m. today on 13 june. President Draupadi Murmu arrived at Chetwood at 7:30 a.m., along with Chief Minister Dhami and Governor Gurmeet Singh. The piping ceremony began at 9:30 a.m., after which the President returned to Dehradun Airport. This is the second time a female President has been the chief guest at the IMA parade. Previously, Pratibha Patil also participated in the parade.

A total of 515 Gentleman Cadets participated in the passing out ceremony, including 9 women candidates. Along with them, 34 candidates from 16 friendly countries will also pass out and become part of their country’s army. This time, 9 women army officers will pass out from here for the first time and become part of the Indian Army. In view of the IMA passing out parade and the President’s visit, the police have also increased the security arrangements. Police personnel have been deployed in the entire city, along with this, a no drone zone has been declared and traffic has also been diverted towards IMA during the program. After the POP program, the President will leave for the airport and from there will leave for Delhi.
