In view of the Kanwar Yatra starting from July 30th, the Uttarakhand government is offering a major gift to the pilgrims. Six special trains will operate for the pilgrims from July 30th, and the routes of four trains have also been extended. The Railway Department has announced the operation of six special trains for Shiva devotees traveling to Haridwar to collect Ganga water during the month of Shravan. The routes of four trains have also been extended. These trains will operate between Delhi and Haridwar station from July 30th to August 14th. 4,410 LED lights will also be installed on the Kanwar Yatra route. Providing information about the special trains, Senior DCM Mahesh Yadav said that the operation of train numbers 74022 and 74023 Delhi Shamli Delhi DMU trains has been extended to Haridwar station. Both trains will operate daily from Delhi station from July 30th to August 13th and from Haridwar station from July 31st to August 14th. The operation of Delhi Saharanpur Delhi MEMU train has also been extended till Haridwar station. Both these trains will also operate daily from Delhi from 30th July to 13th August and from Haridwar station from 31st July to 14th August. Similarly, Haridwar Delhi Shahdara Haridwar Unreserved Mela Special train will be operated from 30th July to 13th July. Other trains including train number 04315 and 04316 Yoga Nagari Rishikesh Delhi Shahdara Rishikesh passing through Haridwar will be operated. To ensure smooth, safe and hassle-free journey of Kavad pilgrims, Rs 6.30 crore has been released by the administration with which the preparations are being finalized. To ensure that the devotees do not face any kind of inconvenience during the Kavad Yatra at night, For this 6265 LED lights will be installed on the main roads of Haridwar and Roorkee divisions at a cost of Rs 120.60 lakh, whereas 1855 LED lights will be installed in Haridwar division and 4410 LED lights will be installed in Roorkee division.

Former Cabinet Minister Hira Singh Bisht passes away, CM Dhami pays tribute

Former Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister and veteran Congress Party leader Hira Singh Bisht has passed away. His last rites were performed at the Adhoivala Nalapani crematorium on Sunday, July 26th. His son, Siddharth Bisht, lit the funeral pyre. Earlier, Chief Minister Dhami visited his residence and paid tribute to him by placing a wreath on his body. He also met with the bereaved family and expressed his deep condolences. Congress State President Ganesh Godiyal, Cabinet Minister Khajan Das, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi, Election Management Committee Chairman Harak Singh Rawat, and Election Campaign Committee Chairman Pritam Singh, along with several other leaders and workers, paid floral tributes to his body. According to reports, Hira Singh Bisht complained of chest pain around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday night. His family members then took him to a private hospital on East Canal Road, where he passed away. It is also being reported that he had been unwell for a long time. His death sent shockwaves throughout the Congress and political circles. He lived in a house on Sewak Ashram Road. Hira Singh Bisht was a prominent public figure, a senior Congress leader in Uttarakhand, a former cabinet minister, and a three-time MLA. He was born on November 4, 1940, in Pauri Garhwal district. He was a voice of labor organizations. As the state president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Uttarakhand, he championed the rights of workers and laborers. He established himself as a labor leader during his political career spanning more than five decades. His political journey began in the 1970s as president of the DAV PG College Students’ Union. He held various responsibilities within the Congress organization for a long time and established a strong following among the party workers. His entry into active politics began with the 1977 Lok Sabha elections, contesting the Tehri Lok Sabha seat, but was unsuccessful. In 1985, he contested the Dehradun Assembly seat and reached the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Bisht, who had a keen interest in sports, initiated the acquisition of land for an international cricket stadium in Dehradun. The stadium took shape during the Congress regime after the formation of Uttarakhand. After the formation of Uttarakhand, he contested the first Assembly elections in 2002 from the Rajpur constituency. He served as the Minister of Transport, Labor, and Technical Education in the ND Tiwari government. In 2014, he won the by-election for the Doiwala Assembly seat. After this, he continued to contest Assembly elections but was unsuccessful.

UKSSSC, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission, has released the syllabus for the Assistant Agriculture Officer Class-1 (Development Branch) and Assistant Agriculture Officer Class-3 recruitment exams in the Agriculture Department. Candidates will be required to study digital AI and robotics for recruitment. The Commission has also included digital AI and robotics in the syllabus. Several recruitment exams in the state were stalled due to a lack of syllabus. The syllabus prepared by the Commission for these exams is being finalized after receiving suggestions from relevant departments at the government level. Consequently, after receiving the government’s approval, UKSSC has released the syllabus for the Assistant Agriculture Officer Recruitment Exam.The Uttarakhand government has included modern topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things, and digital agriculture in the syllabus. This year, Uttarakhand’s agriculture officers will be seen using AI and smart technology in the field The Commission had previously scheduled July 26 for the Assistant Agriculture Officer exam. However, the Commission postponed the exam due to a lack of a finalized syllabus. The Commission announced this in a revised exam calendar released on July 2. The Commission will now release the new date soon. The exam pattern is as follows: The Commission will conduct a two-hour exam, consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks. The syllabus is divided into 10 main sections. Units 1 and 2 cover topics related to scientific crop production, organic and natural farming, horticulture (fruits, flowers, and vegetables), mushroom production, and hydroponics. Units 3 and 4 cover soil health, manure and fertilizer, remote sensing, plant protection (pest and disease management), sericulture, and beekeeping. Units 5 and 6 cover Mendel’s laws, GI tags, seed technology, plant cells, nutrition, and disaster management. Units 7 and 8 cover animal husbandry and milk processing, agricultural economics, KCC, PM-KISAN, and the e-NAM market system. Units 9 and 10 cover modern agricultural equipment (tractors, power tillers), green energy, statistics, digital agriculture, and the use of AI in agriculture. The syllabus clarifies that questions related to the latest scientific advances, technological advancements, and contemporary general knowledge related to these topics will also be included in the exam.

An MoU was signed on Sunday, June 14th, under the chairmanship of Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, between Secretary of Cooperation Dr. Iqbal Ahmed and Vice Chancellor of Tribhuvan Cooperative University, Prof. Shashwat Vishwas. The Project Management Unit, established under this agreement for the next five years, will become a major hub for innovation, research capacity development, and institutional strengthening in the cooperative sector in Uttarakhand. This unit will work to identify new opportunities in the cooperative sector, conduct scientific studies, support policy development, and modernize cooperative institutions. The PMU will also promote capacity building, business model development, marketing support, management improvement, and the use of modern technologies for PACS, District Cooperative Banks, Multipurpose Cooperative Societies, and other cooperative institutions in the state. In the President’s presence, 515 Gentleman Cadets will complete their final pass and become part of the Indian Army and the forces of friendly countries. The passing out parade of the 141st Regular Technical Course at the 158th IMA began at 6:40 a.m. today on 13 june. President Draupadi Murmu arrived at Chetwood at 7:30 a.m., along with Chief Minister Dhami and Governor Gurmeet Singh. The piping ceremony began at 9:30 a.m., after which the President returned to Dehradun Airport. This is the second time a female President has been the chief guest at the IMA parade. Previously, Pratibha Patil also participated in the parade. A total of 515 Gentleman Cadets participated in the passing out ceremony, including 9 women candidates. Along with them, 34 candidates from 16 friendly countries will also pass out and become part of their country’s army. This time, 9 women army officers will pass out from here for the first time and become part of the Indian Army. The annual Kainchi fair is being held on June 15th at Kainchi Dham, the sacred shrine of the world-famous Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, located in the Bhawali area of Nainital. This day is celebrated as the foundation day of Kainchi Dham. It is said that Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj inaugurated this holy ashram on June 15th, 1964. Kainchi Dham is considered a major center of faith, devotion, and service, attracting a large number of devotees every year. Thousands of devotees from India and abroad are expected to arrive this year as well. During the fair, devotees seek Baba’s blessings and participate in devotional worship. The administration and temple committee have made special arrangements for the convenience and safety of devotees for this world-famous fair, scheduled to be held on June 15th, 2026. To manage the crowd, 120 shuttle buses have been arranged, which will operate from Haldwani, Kathgodam, and other designated parking areas.
